“REYKJAVIK—Jon Gnarr, leader of Iceland’s newest and most offbeat political party, promises various changes if he is elected mayor of Reykjavik: a polar bear for the city’s petting zoo; palm trees for its icy waterfront; free towels at its swimming pools; a rearrangement of statues; and a commitment to “sustainable transparency.”

The Icelandic newspaper Morgunblaðið – www.mbl.is – is running a cartoonist competition to fill the space left by their former cartoonist, who moved to another newspaper recently. From the 1st of April the project continues online on the website http://www.bb123.tv and throughout 2010.

There will be a special viewing in Dansehallerne, centre of modern Dance in Copenhagen as part of Screen Moves in May.

SALTS are the Icelandic artist Ingi Jensson and German choreographer Heike Salzer. Their work crosses the genres of dance, digital media and comics and aims to create art for those who don’t expect it.
